Brief History

Herp-Ghana is a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit making amphibian and reptile conservation society in Ghana.

The organisation was started in 2006 by a small amphibian conservation interest group at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, (KNUST) led by Caleb Ofori Boateng.

Herp-Ghana officially became a registered Non-Governmental Organization in 2011. Headquartered in Kumasi Ghana, Herp-Ghana spearheads the conservation of amphibians and reptiles in West Africa through partner institutions in other West African countries (e.g FEE in Liberia).
